The Regions and its People
 
Ghana is a land with a population of over 20 million. The country administratively is divided into 10 regions. Each of which is endowed with rich distinct cultures.
 
Greater Accra Region
Greater Accra, the gateway to Ghana and home of our vibrant Capital City, Accra,is one of the most exciting and distinctive regions. Although the smallest, it is the most densely populated.

Ashanti Region
The Ashanti is a kingdom of gold, history and culture. Occupying a central portion of modern Ghana, the region is the hub of the ancient kingdom of the Asante, and still the heartland fo all Asante, wherever they may now be.

Central Region
The Central Region is the former government centre of the Gold Coast. Cape Coast,its capital city, was the seat of the British colonial administration up until 1877.

Western Region
The Western Region of Ghana, adjoining the border with Cote d'Ivoire, presents a striking contrast between ancient and modern with its castles and forts.

Volta Region
The most easterly region bordering on Togo, the region is an area of extra-ordinary scenic beauty. Rolling hills and valleys, rocky outcrops overlooking Lake Volta, lagoons, rivers and waterfalls make for one of nature's most attractive gift.

Upper West Region
Boadering the upper western corner of Ghana to Burkina Faso, the region is part of the traditional crossroads for the trans-Saharan trade routes.

Upper East Region
Much of the landscape, as the Upper West, is broad savannah grassland dotted with the strange-looking baobab tree, striking Sahel terrain.

Northern Region
This is hat largest region in Ghana, and another granary of the nation. The farmers produce substantial harvests of rice, maize, millet, sorghum and other food crops.

Brong Ahafo Region
A great agricultural region and often recognised as our breadbasket as, apart from its extensive forest reserves and cocoa plantations, it has a large acreage of food crops.
